Distant World Orchestra /o/

Finally after 5 months pending, I've decided to write about my experience attending the Distant World Orchestra.

The concert was held 3 days in Malaysia, on 16th, 17th and 18th of November but I've only attended the first one, on 16th.

The whole perfomance was beautiful. Astounding. Mesmerizing. Even remembering it makes my heart races. Alhamdulillah I was able to attend it without a hitch :)

Splurged on one t-shirt and 2 CDs. I was hoping to buy the DVDs too but I was short of money ;w; (t-shirt actually costs more than one CD what)

To be honest, I cannot decide which is my favourite pieces among of all, because all of them were played beautifully.

Though I have to admit, whenever a song from FF8 is played (which is my favourite out of others) I cannot help but to grin like an idiot hehe.

The hauntingly beautiful "Liberi Fatali" was played as the introduction

FF8's Liberi Fatali (Original MIDI ver.)

whilst "The Man with Machine Gun" and "Don't Be Afraid" was played in the middle of the concert.
FF8's The Man with Machine Gun (DWO ver.)

FF8's Don't Be Afraid (Distant World Orchestra ver.)

I was hoping for "Premonition" or "Fisherman's Horizon", but it doesn't get played. Ah well one could hope /o/

FF8's Premonition. One of my favourite song. The intensity of the song is just ;sdlfks

"Dear Friends" from FF5 was beautiful too, the melody kinda tells the story of the song. I fell in love the first time I heard it at the concert, so that's saying something. ( I never played FF1~FF6 so originally idk their tracks aside from Dissidia FF)

Dear Friends Piano ver. (orchestrated ver. was much better but there's none on YT ;w;)

"The Clash on the Big Bridge" of FF5 was awesome and energetic as expected. Epic.

The Clash on the Big Bridge (Orchestra ver. by DWO :) )

FF4's "Theme of Love" was enchantingly beautiful. I almost teared up, but I didn't because at the same time I was mesmerized by the images on the screen. Now I'm listening to it again and it gives me goosebumps. It's that good.

Theme of Love (Orchestra ver. at Tour De Japon)

for FF7, "Opening : Bombing Mission" gives you this kind of adrenaline rush. Really good. Though I was hoping for "On the Verge of Assault" of Crisis Core to be played but it didn't.. (It gives better adrenaline rush, period) To think about it, I dont remember seeing any songs aside from FF1~FF13 played throughout all of the DWO perfomances. It would be good if they pick something other of that like Chrono Cross and Crisis Core because they too have mindblowing soundtracks. Like "Price of Freedom" and "Time's Scar".
Both of them are really good songs, I tell you.

FF7's Opening : Bombing Mission (Orchestra ver, not live though)

On the Verge of Assault, FF7 Crisis Core. a MUST listen. All the adrenaline rush!

Chrono Cross - Scar of Time by VGO (orchestra ver, not live)

Near the end of the concert, they played "One-Winged Angel" of FF7 as the encore. Which made ALL of the audiences happy because everyone was clapping, because its like the compulsory piece in every concert /laughs ;; Initially I was pretty disappointed too because I thought it was not going to be played hahaha.

The infamous FF7's One-Winged Angel

Actually I had brought 3 packets of tissue as preparation in case I bawl while listening to the music. I was pleasantly surprised that I only used ONE ply of the tissue /laughs
I didn’t feel like crying until “Suteki Da Ne” was played (sang by Stephanie Van Driesen) with the emotional video of FFX played, my willpower gave up and the tears duct won. And I’m not alone in crying because I heard few sniffs from whole lot directions while “Suteki Da Ne” was sang and played :P

FF10's Suteki Da Ne (Isn't it Beautiful? Japanese version)
Maria and Draco from FF6 was great too, I never thought I will appreciate opera-like song in my whole life, but at that night I did. The three singers voice were just that powerful. I've compared few versions of Maria and Draco from other DWO concerts, but theirs are the best to me.
AND OH FF9’s “You’re not Alone” was nothing but BRILLIANT! All my feeeeels. FF9 have lots of MV clip, and all of them are used well in the clip, matching the perfomance.

FF9 You're Not Alone performed at Tour de Japon (orchestra ver.)

All in all it was GREAT! Very happy that I was able to attend the concert after 10 years of waiting. Worth the money, time and the stress to overcome all challenges in order to plan and attend the concert. I'm very thankful and grateful ya Allah, really I've never dreamed to get this kind of opportunity, but somehow I did, Alhamdulillah :')
All FF fans or instrumental song lovers should attend it if they’re able to, there’ll be no regrets I tell you :)

Distant World Orchestra

i LOVE listening to orchestras and piano perfomances, though i've never been to an official one, sadly. I wish someday I could listen to em, maybe a "Distant World Orchestra" perfomance? or maybe orchestra thrown by VGO orchestral team, though I highly doubt that they will come to Malaysia.. -.-

lines above are copy pasted from "piano and violin" post

guess whaaaaaaat

turns out that Distant World Orchestra DO COME to Malaysia! They'll come on 16th November. Ya Allah thank you thank you thank you :')

I'm irrevocably happy to be honest.

But I'm slightly scared that things will turn downhill, because I'm being way too expectant.

Doakan everything goes well for me and tak ada aral melintang? ;__:

I do have been waiting for this since I was 10 years old.. It's like a dream I never thought possible to come true.

harap semua dipermudahkan ;__;

drabble part II

Being a Quistis doesn't mean that she won't face difficulties and having problems. Just because she's matured, experienced, and knowledgeable doesn't mean she's a superwoman.
Initially, all the hardships and problems are the one who had refined and polished her to become mature in the first place.
She had them earlier than other people, she had it harder.
But her faith, willpower and ability to think with logic instead of emotions prevails. To a certain extent.

A Squall can only give her support. Praying, muttering comforting words, showing caring gesture. But then that's all one could do. Because being a Squall make your lips locked, shut tight.
Fighting self, self-doubting ; contemplating what to say and what not. Because he knows his place. He knows that he's not as knowledgeable as her. He knows that he never felt what she felt. He knows that he never can understand what she experiences fully, because he's not in her place. He's not her.

Still.. He still wishes, prays the best for her. Leonhart, probably not as brave as his last name, but at the very least,

he cares.

update

It's been ages since I've updated this blog. Few reasons accounted to that, but one of them are the typical reason you and I always heard : lazy. and maybe abit hectic here and there. Will be spamming few random posts, please excuse that eheh.

Alot of things had happened during this uh, 6 months hiatus from blog. Too many, I cant even remember them all already. I've learnt quite a number of lessons throughout these months, either first-hand or observed one. Damages and damaged were done here and there, but I think all the faults and mistakes we made will make us a better person, insyaAllah. Everything exists for a reason. I'm still learning, still learning to be a better person. Friends, please don't get tired of me and give up on me. Let's remind and repair each other to search for Him, un? Jangan masuk syurga sorang sorang ;__;

a drabble.

blessed with sharp wisdom and intelligence, she had matured a long time ago, when her peers were still stuck in their child phase.

always the observant, absorbing everything around her, yet nothing comes out from her tongue, unless the situation urges her to ; making only relevant, needed words to be spoken out of her.

a compassionate and a soul full of empathy; always putting herself in someone else's shoes, empathizing instead of sympathizing, always soothen one's troubled heart with a carefully picked words, a fitting strands of word that one craves to hear when in distress.

she's the Quistis of my self rendered ff8.

and somehow, that makes it bearable staying here, without my best rival slash good friend, and my companion of sorts that are currently few thousand kilometres from here.

Alhamdulillah

Syukur, that we human are gifted with special senses, limbs and high motor system.
With that, we're able to play and enjoy our daily intricate activities, sports for example.
For instance, when you're playing badminton. You look at the shuttlecock. You estimate the distance. Your muscles tense to get ready for the upcoming move. You hit the ball with your racquet, estimating the extension of your arm, with a form of racquet ; without even looking towards your action of hitting the ball.
That, is one intricate and beautiful process. The action of seeing, estimating and gauging your movement, the strength of your movement, while moving towards the ball, all in one go, is a very detailed and complex process. Sending data to your brain, interpreting, and giving the orders to your corresponding limbs.

reading for the sake of

Since i was a kid, my parents had always nurtured the need to read and bask in knowledge.
even in kindergarden(sp?) they started to feed me with useful reading materials, like story books, kisah-kisah nabi, and mini encyclopedia. hmm it's not really mini i think, it's like a set of informative books designed specially for kids.
this kind of book :3

the set are divided into alot of genre like.. mechanics and gadgets (pumps, how dam works, dynamo, how can an aeroplane flies, how water system in house works, how camera take pictures, formation of mirage and others)
animals (speed of different animals ; who's the fastest and slowest, how porcupine protect themselves, specialty of tiger's traits, defense mechanism of cicak XDd and others)
organs! (our pupil will dilate/constrict in response to light, white crescent shaped moon exist in your nail indicates that you're healthy, importance of sleep for regulation of body, how digestive works ; spicy food does get digested faster, keratinisation of skin, formation of mole, melanin, albino, etc etc.)
and also nursery rhymes. ^o^

the books were drawn with helpful colourful diagrams, and were told in simple words that it'll attract little kids to read em. masa umur 5~7 tahun memang la keje menconteng buku tu dengan pensil warna je, bila dah besar sikit baru boleh proses dan baca info dalam buku-buku tu. memang menarik (:

now that i'm learning parts of body here and there, i cant help but to remember the small tidbits i've learned back when i was a kid, thanks to the books that my parents provided. for example, when all of us are learning about eye, the fact that i know our pupil dilate and constrict in order to regulate the intake of light inside of our eyeball since i was 9 years old made me feel very.. reminiscent and giddy. happy and shocked that what i've learnt back in my childhood popped up again in my university life. and it sparked a thought in me.

during my childhood, i used to be so excited reading everything related to life, devouring every knowledge that i could. until now, i can still remember how the diagrams look in those old books.

but now.. aiyo ==

honestly, i miss that feeling of wanting more and more of knowledge, absorbing everything without feeling burdened and stressed. having no worries about upcoming exam, what will life throw towards you.

hopefully one day i can regain and relive that blissful feeling. studying not for the sake of passing, but for the sake of the knowledge itself.

***
so one day hopefully when I have my own children (eh eh kau ni tak habis study lagi nak cher pasal anak sendri pulakk)

I'll buy em books, just like what my parents did. kids learn fast, and easily. they have superb memory and ability to remember. the things you've learnt back in your childhood is one of the most vivid memory you could have :)

thank you mom and dad for being such an awesome parents mwah mwah :* Alhamdulillah, thank you ya Allah for giving me such parents. I'm grateful to be your daughter.

and did I told you two that you guys are awesome? No? Then I'm telling it again that you guys are made up of pure awesomeness. hehe. and my siblings too of course. hihi abangkakngahafizaidin <3 <3

when I get back to Malaysia I am soooo gonna take a look at those books again hehe!

words of encouragement

「The first few steps are always the hardest one.」- Sarah Denssen

Like.. when we're doing something, the head start is always the hardest part. But when we've already took the first few steps, along the way we'll get used to the pace and able to cope up with the rest of the journey.

Example : Jogging. It's always hard for us to get our lazy ass off the chair, go out and work our bodies out but, once we've already gone out and jog, it's not that hard to lift your feet and jog for a few rounds right? :3
And soon, you'll get used to the routine and it'll be a hard routine to break once you've gotten used to jogging.
Same goes for studying too, at first it's hard to get the right schedule and pace, but once you've found it and got used to your style of studying, things will get better and you'll feel happy and content to devour more informations from your lecture slides and books :B

「It's okay to feel lost in the first three months of medical school. It's normal.」
Stumbled across this phrase when I was searching for medical school tips, and I think this particular phrase had boosted my spirit alot ; and they make sense too.
I remembered back then, in the first Demo and Discussion class, where the lecturers introduced us to the different parts of the bones, the elevations, depressions, notches and others.
Everyone was writing the meaning of tubercles, notch, crest, and other terms diligently, but finding it hard to understand and comprehend the meaning. But as time passes, everyone got used to the terms and are able to understand the terms w/o referring to any books or slides. See the relation? I think this goes for other blocks too. At first we'll be overwhelmed by the new parts, terms, functions and mechanism of everything, but we'll get used to it because the infos will keep being drilled in our head.

There are few more encouraging and spirit-boosting phrases but it disappeared and vanished as I type =="..
Will post more if my brain somehow recollects them back teehee.

r-r-r-result

now i've entered university for.. 4 months, and i've just finished my first exam 2 weeks ago. at first all of us thought that we will get our result on friday, but it turned out that the lecturers only discussed the questions and answers of our exam papers, without telling us the result. i was so nervous and jittery at that time ; since  i really had thought that the result would be announced/posted after the discussion, but that was not the case apparently. after realizing my mistakes and errors that i've made in the exam, and knowing the fact that we wont get our result at that time, i have lost all the energy to be nervous and expectant. i've stopped anticipating, because i had put high hopes that we'll get our result by that particular day.

and so... when madam vindhya announced that we'll get our result on today's afternoon, i was like.. "oh okay, result." truth to be told,  i was not excited or anticipating it, since all my energy to do so had dissipated and vanished into thin air due to the previous incident. my hopes got crushed before wew. i'm such a pessimist. =="

but still dadaddidadadada in the end we all got our result. i was really... shocked i guess. i did not see this coming, because the study week was disastrous and chaotic i could not put it into words. my daily schedule, health, and sleeping time went haywire ||orz

alhamdulillah, thank you Allah, thank you..  :')

it's not that good nor that bad, but I'm really grateful that I had passed and hopefully I can do and work harder so that I can improve and refine myself to be better.

the results were given out by mentors assigned for each of us students, and they're really helpful and caring towards us. they expect you not to just pass, but to strive and get the best mark o__o
they dont mind if we reach out to them for any reference or problems~ which is very good and helpful :D

i'll work harder, hopefully :O

and please excuse the sloppy and bad usage of english, my english had deteriorated and crumbled to pieces T___T

みんなーさん、いっしょに がんばりしょう、ね?三( ゚∀゚)フ!
